Moreover, a\ncomparative study of Mars and Earth provides crucial information for\ndeveloping models of the terrestrial planets\u2019 evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our\ninterdisciplinary research focuses on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>\nStudying\n\taeolian processes (dominant on Mars) based on data from Mars (from\n\trovers, landers, and orbiters), numerical simulations (fluid\n\tmechanics), laboratory tests (e.g. in an aerodynamic tunnel)\n\t<\/li><li>\nGeomorphological\n\tmapping of Mars, necessary for understanding near surface processes\n\tand conducting future planetary exploration \n\t\n\t<\/li><li>\nStudying\n\tof the lower atmosphere of Mars (e.g. electromagnetic phenomena,\n\tdust storms, analysis of meteorological data, and atmospheric\n\tcirculation models)\n\t<\/li><li>\nStudying\n\tthe subsurface of Mars using electromagnetic techniques for liquid\n\twater detection\n\t<\/li><li>\nDeveloping\n\tautomatic techniques, using machine vision and machine learning, to\n\tprocess and analyze data from space missions, and to create\n\tvisualizations of geophysical processes\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Current\nProjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Study of aeolian transport in the equatorial regions of Mars<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/mars.uj.edu.pl\/index.php\/scientific-activities\/study-of-aeolian-transport-in-the-equatorial-regions-of-mars\/\">Full description \u00bb<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Tomography of the Martian ground using inverse solutions for ELF waves generated by dust storms in the ground-ionosphere waveguide<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/mars.uj.edu.pl\/index.php\/scientific-activities\/tomography-of-the-martian-ground-using-inverse-solutions-for-elf-waves-generated-by-dust-storms-in-the-ground-ionosphere-waveguide\/\">Full description \u00bb<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mars, the best-known extra-terrestrial object, due to its similarity to Earth and its proximity, currently is and will be one of the most important goals of space exploration.
